Two years later, Imagine All The People builds synthetic populations and synthetic societies, explains their reactions and can conduct a study from end to end.
GENESIS
It all begins in the summer of 2024 with a conversation between François Pachet, an artificial intelligence researcher, and Bruno Walther, an entrepreneur with a background in marketing, strategy and public decision-making.
They share the same observation: companies and governments make decisions that sometimes affect millions of people without being able to truly test reactions at scale. In France, the pension reform particularly struck them.
They begin, almost for fun, to imagine a system capable of anticipating those reactions. But they quickly hit a limit: combining the personal data required to build such a system is legally and operationally too restrictive.
What if the personal data belonged to no one? What if we created doubles that do not exist?
Synthetic individuals, then populations, then societies capable of interacting.
Imagine All The People was born from that intuition.
